C.F. McCarthy's ("we", "us") is a neighborhood pub and restaurant at 614 Washington St, Canton, MA 02021. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website (cfmccarthys.com), our email list and our ads, what we do with it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

What you give us

• Party and event inquiries. When you fill in a form on our site, like the holiday party form, we collect your name, email, phone number, the dates and headcount you're asking about, and anything you type in the message box.
• Forms on Facebook and Instagram. If you fill in one of our forms inside a Facebook or Instagram ad, Meta passes us what you entered there, such as your name, email, phone and party details.
• Our email list. When you join our email list, we collect your email address, and your name if you give it.
• Reservations. When a credit card holds a reservation, we take the card details directly from you. We never collect card numbers through this website.

What's collected automatically

When you visit our site, we and the services we use collect things like the pages you view, the site you came from, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city level, based on your IP address). This is done with cookies and similar technology:

• Framer, our website host, processes visits and form submissions to run the site.
• Meta Pixel. See "Ads" below.
• Google Analytics. See "Analytics" below.
• Brevo, the service that sends our emails, tells us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked.

How we use it

• To reply to your inquiry and plan your party or reservation.
• To send the emails you signed up for, like our Wednesday specials.
• To understand how people use our site, so we can make it better.
• To show our ads to people nearby who might like the pub, and to see which ads work.
• To run the business: keeping records, stopping spam and fraud, and following the law.

Our email list

We send our emails through Brevo. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you're off the list. Sending us a party inquiry doesn't add you to our email list unless you ask to join.

Ads

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, which are run by Meta. Our site uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code that tells Meta when someone visits our site or sends a form. That helps us show our ads to people likely to be interested, and see whether they work. Meta handles that information under its own privacy policy (facebook.com/privacy/policy). Ads that feature alcohol are only shown to people 21 and older.

You can control the ads you see in your Facebook or Instagram settings (Accounts Center, then Ad preferences). You can also opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how visitors use our site, like which pages people visit most. Google collects this through cookies and handles it under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You can opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Cookies

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, and the ad and analytics opt-outs above work too.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with:

• The services that help us run the pub and this site: Framer (website and forms), Brevo (email), Google (our email inbox and Analytics) and Meta (ads). They use it to provide those services to us.
• Anyone the law requires us to share it with, or when we need to protect our guests, our staff or the business.
• A new owner, if the business is ever sold.

How long we keep it

We keep party inquiries for as long as we need them to plan your event and keep normal business records. We keep you on our email list until you unsubscribe.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from our emails any time, using the link at the bottom of each one.
• Ask us what information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email cfmccarthys2018@gmail.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser, and manage your ad settings as described above.

Children

Our site isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website or email system is perfectly secure.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date.
